The Marine Corp Memorial Essay Summary Example For Students

The Marine Corp Memorial Essay Summary On February 19, 1945 five Marines and one Sailor partook in an occasion that would everlastingly change the course of occasions for the Marine Corps. Without a doubt one of the most remarkable pictures of the twentieth century is the banner raising on Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima. The banner raising caught the boldness, responsibility and respect that these Marines held as they arrived at the top. These people were just doing what they were told to do, yet it was the Pulitzer Prize winning photo that was taken by Joe Rosenthal that transformed this war time occasion into an overall authentic occasion. Behind the bird, globe and grapple, the banner raising has appeared as a second image for the Marine Corps. Felix de Weldon was at the hour of the banner bringing up in the United States Navy. Felix was at that point a world-revoked stone carver. At seventeen years old he won a stone carver challenge in his local Austria. He concentrated in France, Italy and Spain and in the long run examined antiquarianism at Oxford. After showing up in the United States he experienced passionate feelings for this nation and its way of life. He joined the U. S. Naval force as a Seabee. Felix de Weldon has been alluded to as the craftsman to the presidents and rulers. Felix was so moved by the photo that he developed a scale model and afterward an actual existence size model of it. Gagnon, Hayes, and Bradley, the three overcomers of the banner raising postured for the stone carver. The first sculpture which was thrown in mortar went in plain view before the Old Navy Building in Washington D. C. from 1945-1946. It was utilized to advance war bonds around the nation. In 1946 General Vandegrift was so moved by the sculpture that he had Felix de Weldon moved from the Navy to the Marine Corps and dispatched him to deliver the dedication we see today. The remembrance like some other in Washington was met with debate. The essential debate originated from the National Sculpture Society. This general public had done the entirety of the enormous dedications in Washington and didn't what to be forgotten about on this one. The Governments Commission of Fine Arts likewise participated in the endeavor to stop the remembrance. The commission named by the president, was an assortment of tasteful experts that had purview over craftsmanship put on government property in the capital. The fight was not between the Marines and the post war innovator yet a battle among the promoters of customary authentic craftsmanship. The commission needed the Marine Corp class to drop de Weldon and go with a craftsman through open rivalry. The Marines knew de Weldons form of the sculpture and that was the sculpture they needed. Ten teachers from American University by and large excused de Weldons design as average quality and called it standard, incapable, and unsculpturesque. Donald De Lu leader of the National Sculpture Society expressed that: Instead of deifying the courageous Marines who have given their lives for their nation, the proposed plan, whenever allowed to be completed would be just a wellspring of harsh hatred, savage analysis, and derision. William Wheeler, later to turn into the President of the Sculpture Society, submitted as letter to Secretary of State Forrestal asserting various wrong doings by de Weldon. These charges extended from obscure strategic policies, terminated visa, distorting workmanship, and transportation busts that were as yet wet and the suing for harms when they showed up harmed. In late 1947 the landmark got another difficulty. The Commission of Fine Art, which has the tasteful endorsement of all landmarks set in the Washington zone, dismissed the commemoration in light of its size and the area that was chosen. Later that equivalent year the Marine Corps War Memorial Foundation was shaped with General Denig as president and Harry Dash as head of account. .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .postImageUrl , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .focused content region { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:hover , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:visited , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:active { border:0!important; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-change: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; darkness: 1; progress: mistiness 250ms; webkit-change: haziness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:active , .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:hover { obscurity: 1; progress: murkiness 250ms; webkit-change: murkiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .focused content region { width: 100%; position: relati ve; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .ctaText { fringe base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content beautification: underline; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; outskirt: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; text style weight: intense; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt span: 3px; content adjust: focus; content design: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: supreme; right: 0; top: 0; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2 ee10153d07cbe1198 .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u265b0d0fe68ede2ee10153d07cbe1198:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Causes And Effects Of Earthquakes EssayIt was later found that Harry Dash was stealing reserves adding up to over $100,000 of the commitments. This mishap nearly shut down the commemoration yet however the persistence of a Marine General practically the entirety of the assets were recuperated and development on the remembrance continued. On the 176th birthday celebration of the Marine Corps November tenth, 1954 the remembrance was disclosed and for the individuals who saw the revealing this was another sort of landmark, which was stuck in precision and authenticity. On the base of the Memorial is engraved all the fights that were battled in which Marines gave their lives. Another engraving read Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue likewise recorded was the names of the six people who the remembrance portrays. Three of the six could never realize that they were deified forever; they passed on before the finish of the war. A forward kicked the bucket not long after the commitment. A straightforward demonstration of pride changed these people into national legends, deified forever in bronze. As in any figure, painting, or gem, line is significant, lines decide the start and the end, and it permits different items to be isolated. The lines in this figure are utilized with such authenticity that it is anything but difficult to see the individual bits of the model yet to evacuate any of the pieces would expel the genuine importance of the figure. Felix de Weldon repeated a valid, past sensible duplicate of the first photograph along these lines permitting the watcher to asses there own sentiments or thoughts as what went on the morning of February 19, 1945. There are a huge number of drawings, sculptures and duplicates of the first photo and you will locate that a considerable lot of them have little yet irrelevant contrasts. It isn't the trouble of the procedure of proliferation that causes the distinctions. The distinctions lie in the generation of the thought on which the photograph speaks to. The commemoration is huge in size; each figure alone is 33 feet high and is molded in evident 3 dimensional structure. With its size and its unfathomable detail, this renders the remembrance as a genuine moving occasion. The negligible size alone prompts the unselfish significance of this chronicled occasion. The commemoration is found outside on the eastern edge of the Arlington National Cemetery in an open field of around 4 sections of land. To be genuinely enlivened by this dedication it ought to be seen around evening time. The lighting was structured with such precession that unimportant words can't communicate the greatness of the occasion. The remembrance is a solidified second in time, when the world was at war in pretty much every corner. The photo by Joe Rosenthal deified this occasion so all children could see and ideally feel equivalent to he did on that day. The main piece of the landmark that isn't solidified in bronze is the American Flag. The genuine banner adds to the oddity existing apart from everything else. If you somehow happened to evacuate the external skin of the remembrance all you would discover is a practical edge comprised of latters, cranes, brackets and winches, wires and links. The remembrance was a triumph of association as much as a gem. Using projective pictures de Weldon had the option to transform a photograph into a wonderful masterpiece. The main change that was produced using the first photograph was one of the Marines at the base of the banner was pivoted internal to include a progressively stylish appearance. The meeting was with a Marine housewife who has a few individuals from her family that were or are in the military. She saw the dedication as an image of solidarity for our country. To her the commemoration is pride in our country and our lifestyle. The commemoration represented a triumphant country. She additionally remarked on the way that the commemoration was planned so as to bring out various feelings from every person who sees it. The remembrance represents a wartime country as well as a peacetime country also mind

Whats The Most Important Part of Your Credit Score Whats The Most Important Part of Your Credit Score? Whats The Most Important Part of Your Credit Score? There are five different categories that make up your credit score, and one of them makes up over one-third of your score all by itself.Welcome to the Score Countdown, where we’re counting down the most important scores!Score number 5? Yes, your credit score is very important if you’re looking to get a personal loan, an apartment, a car, or any number of other things. And it’s made up of different parts. But let’s just ask the question you came to have answered: What’s the most important part of your credit score? The most important part of your credit score is Of the five factors that make up your credit score, the most important one is payment history. We’re glad we could answer that question for you. Have a nice day! Keep warm!Wait, how do you improve your payment history?Don’t worry, we weren’t just going to leave you to fend for yourself. We spoke to the experts to find out how you can improve your payment history. The first piece of advice may seem obvious, but it’s also very important.“Start making payments on time,” urged Leslie H. Tayne Esq. (@LeslieHTayneEsq), Founder and Head Attorney at  Tayne Law Group  (@taynelawgroup). “If your credit score is hurting because of your payment history, this likely means you haven’t been making your payments on time. In order to begin to remedy this, you need to start paying on time.Paying as much as you possibly can by the due date will be the fastest way to improve your score, but even making the minimum payment on time will help. Do whatever you need to do to remember to make a payment.I write all of my due dates on my desk calendar in red pen so I don’t forget. Or perhaps set a calendar reminder in your phone or leave yourself notes where you’ll see them and remember. You can’t erase late payments from your history. The only way to repair it is to change your habits.“Be patient: One on-time payment won’t erase years of damage from late payments. Boosting your score will be a gradual process, particularly if it’s very low. Late payments appear on your credit report for seven years. You will need to establish a consistent pattern of paying on time to help counteract late payments. Late payments affect your credit more the more recent they are, so working to pay on time co nsistently will help lessen the damage.”Request a (free) copy of your credit report.“Aside from the obvious answer of pay your bills on time, there are a couple other things you can do to help your payment history on your credit score,” explained Joyce Blue (@EmpoweringYouLEC).“The first thing is to get a copy of your credit report from all three credit bureaus and make sure the information reported is accurate. Youd be surprised to find out that it isnt always right. Since this category of your score is 35 percent of how your credit score is calculated you want to make sure that the reports are correct.Heres the good news: you can get one free copy of your credit report from all three credit bureaus once a year! To request a free copy of your credit report, visit www.AnnualCreditReport.com.“Make sure to dispute anything on your report that is not correct, Blue continued. Payment history stays on your report of 7 years. If you have anything reported that is older than seve n years you can request that it be removed as well. You can also request things to be removed that are not quite seven years old, and sometimes you will be successful in having those removed as well.Ask your landlord to report your rent.“Are you great at paying your rent, but not all your other bills? You can go to your landlord and ask them to report your on-time payment history to the credit bureaus, said Blue.Usually, the larger apartment complexes will be more apt to do this for you, but it never hurts to ask even with a landlord with a single rental. If you dont ask, the answer will always be no.This will help show your on-time payment history and can be a boost to other things you might not have as good a track record paying.”Use a credit card carefully. If you don’t really have a payment history to speak of, the best way to build one is through limited and responsible credit card use.“Whether with a standard or secured card, just make one small purchase a month and pa y it off in full,” advised Todd Christensen, education manager for  Money Fit (@MoneyFitbyDRS).“Best examples are Netflix and cell phone bills. They are small and typically the same every month. Do NOT carry the card with you into a consumer purchase situation (store).”While payments you make on an installment loan can also help your credit score, this isnt true for all types of personal loans. If you have lousy credit, be warned that most short-term bad credit loans like payday loans, cash advances, and title loans cant help your score; they can only hurt it.Thats because most lenders who offer no credit check loans dont report payment information; they basically opt out of the credit check ecosystem altogether.Of course, there are four other factors besides your payment history. The other four factors.Even though payment history is the most important part of your credit score, you don’t want to neglect the other four factors, which are, in descending order of importance: am ounts owed or credit utilization, length of your credit history, credit mix, and new credit inquiries.“Aside from your payment history, your credit utilization ratio is another major factor in your credit score,” Tayne told us. “This is the amount of money you owe versus your total credit line, and it includes all of your credit cards and loans.Keeping a low credit utilization ratioâ€"under 30 percent is preferred, but you should aim for even less than 30 percentâ€"can also help to offset a negative payment history. Working to get under or stay under that ratio, while also making payments on time, can help repair your credit.”OK, now you have some solid advice to help you build up your credit score. Stay warm! Taking a Look at Marriage - 702 Words

Although the beginning of a marriage is often referred to as the â€Å"honeymoon phase†, newlywed life is not always smooth sailing for everyone. As the excitement of the wedding begins to wear off, the reality of living together and forming your own family begins to set in. While you are adjusting to your lives being merged together, it is completely normal to experience ups and downs in your relationship. The most common problems that you will face as a newlywed couple include: adapting to life post-wedding, communication, and finances. First and foremost, do not make the common mistake of only planning for the wedding, and not for your life as newlyweds. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, â€Å"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.† Discuss your expectations for marriage: the division of household labor, bill paying, future children, and how you will spend your time together. Some couples may assume that their spouse will take on a certain role or responsibility in marriage, such as; money manager, housecleaner, or breadwinner. Rather than expecting your partner to fulfill a specific role, sit down and discuss it with them. Another area of importance is assuring your spouse they are appreciated. When you forget to appreciate the little things your spouse does for you, they will begin to feel unappreciated and neglected. Its not always necessary to take extravagant or dramatic measures to show someone you care about them. Businesses Are Completely Incompatible With Virtue Ethics...

Businesses are completely incompatible with virtue ethics. Discuss. Business ethics is concerned with how well a business treats its stakeholders and whether a business’s actions are seen as ethical. Within business ethics there are three approaches which could be adopted. The first approach is that a business’s main goal could be to maximise profits and nothing more, where the ethics of the business wouldn’t necessarily be important. This view is supported by Milton Friedman. Secondly, some ethicists believe that businesses have moral responsibility to their stakeholders whether that is the employees, consumers or the local community. Finally, the last approach is the social contract theory that is based on the ideas of John Rawls. This†¦show more content†¦Kant says ‘In law a man is guilty when he violates the rights of others. In ethics he is guilty if he only thinks of doing so.’ This means that even if a person thinks of doing bad towards another person they are seen as being unethical and therefore not following through with the virtues. Another reason as to why businesses are seen as compatible with virtue ethics is because out of all the ethical theories, virtue ethics is the most modern. This means that with the modern world of business virtue ethics is most parallel, this is because it is adapted to the modern day. Also, as the virtues are present in modern times as well as in the past, employers will know what traits to have when dealing with their employees. Virtue ethics is also concerned about reaching eudemonia (the supreme good) is very important for an individual but also for the community, but it’s more important for a community to achieve eudaimonia rather than an individual. This could mean that businesses are seen as compatible with virtue ethics because if a firm seeks to achieve eudaimonia within a community then the maximum amount of good is created within a community, which means it also then links in with utilitarianism that seeks the greatest good for the greatest number. There are many areas of concern within business ethics, whether it is whistleblowing, globalisation or the relationship between employers and employees. Learning Centers Learning Centers have been used by instructors for a long clip and may incorporate both differentiated and mandatory activities. However a acquisition Centre is non needfully differentiated unless the activities are varied by trouble taking in to account different pupil ability and preparedness. It is of import that pupils understand what is expected of them at the acquisition Centre and are inspired to pull off their usage of clip. William Shakespeares Hamlet Essays - Characters In Hamlet, Fiction

William Shakespeare's Hamlet Julian Goldblatt AP English Extra Credit In William Shakespeare's Hamlet, the protagonist exhibits a puzzling, duplicitous nature. Hamlet contradicts himself throughout the play, enduring both the virtues of acting a role and that of being true to one's self. He further supports both of these conflicting endorements with his actions. This ambiguity is demonstrated by his alleged madness, only to become perfectly calm and rational an instant later. These inconsistencies are related with the internal dilemmas he faces. He struggles with the issue of revenging his father's death, vowing to kill Claudius and then backing out, several times. The reason for this teetering is directly related to his inability to form a solid opinion about role-playing. This difficulty is not present, however, at the start of the play. In the first act, Hamlet appears to be very straightforward in his actions and inner state. When questioned by Gertrude about his melancholy appearance, Hamlet says, Seems, madam? Nay it is. I know not 'seems.' (1.2.76). This is to say, I am what I appear to be. Later in act I, Hamlet makes a clear statement about his state when he commits himself to revenge. In this statement the play makes an easy to follow shift. This shift consists of Hamlet giving up the role of a student and mourning son. Hamlet says, I'll wipe away all trivial fond records, All saws of books, all forms, all pressures past, That youth and observation copied there, And thy commandment all alone shall live Within the book and volume of my brain (1.5.99-103). Hamlet is declaring that he will be committed to nothing else but the revenge of his father's death. In the next act, however, Hamlet's status and intentions suddenly, and with out demonstrated reason, become mired in confusion. When Hamlet appears again in act two, it seems he has lost the conviction that was present earlier. He has yet to take up the role assigned to him by the ghost. It is not until the very end of the act that he even mentions vengeance. If he had any of the conviction shown earlier he would have been contemplating his revenge. So, instead of playing the part of the vengeful son, he stays in the middle, pretending to be mad. This is shown when he says to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, I know not-lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercise (2.2.298-299). Later he tells them that he is just feigning madness when he says, I am but mad north-north-west, when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a handsaw (2.2.380-381). Admitting so blatantly that he is only feigning madness would imply that he is comfortable with it. It is puzzling that, at this point, Hamlet is comfortable with acting, but not with the role that he said he would play earlier. If he is to play a role, why not the one that his father assigned him? When the characters come in a short while later, his attitude changes. Hamlet is prompted to vengeance, again, by the moving speech that is given by one of the characters. He makes a big buildup of what he should have done and how he will be revenged. After all of his swearing and support of the value of acting and words, he backs out of it again. He can't decide whether or not to play the role. Words are a further condemned when he says, Must, like a whore, unpack my hart with Words (2.2.587). So, he is now condemning role playing. Being caught in the middle, he decides that he needs more proof of the Kings guilt when he says, The play is the thing? Wherein I'll catch the conscience of the King (2.2.606-607). Before the mousetrap is to be played, Hamlet runs into Ophelia and makes the t elling statements. Upon the issue of Ophelia's beauty, Hamlet says, That if you be honest and fair, your honesty should admit no discourse to your beauty (3.1.109-110). He is saying that Ophelia can be honest and fair, but that, honesty being an inward trait, and fairness being an outward trait, but the two cannot be linked. He goes on further to say that Ay, truly, for the

Networking Essays - The Pearl, John Steinbeck, Pearl, La Perla

Networking Essays - The Pearl, John Steinbeck, Pearl, La Perla Networking THE PEARL by John Steinbeck. Written in 1940 and published in 1947, The Pearl is another of Steinbecks novels, which tells the great American dream. The English he uses, as in most of his books, is fairly simple. The message that he attempts to put through to the reader, which makes this short and effortlessly understandable. Steinbecks protagonists comprise of Kino, a young Mexican fisherman, and his poverty-stricken family, consisting of Juana (his wife) and Coyotito (his baby boy). The story begins set in the bare darkness of the interior of Kinos mud hut, where the family awakens before the dawning of each day to perform their retual of preparing and eating corn cakes-the familys staple. Their living quarters is situated next to the Gulf of Mexico, where Kino would go out to dive for oysters and catch his familys next meal. Every single day he dreams of finding the great pearl, whom everybody believes, will make him rich. It is the incident of his sons illness that puts the fire and sense of urgency in his h eart to search for the prized object. The author drawn comparison to the American dream: To gain material wealth, obtain success. Ironically, when Kino does find the Pearl, it is to his great disappointment, too large and virtually worthless. Kino, as a character, is represented by Steinbeck, as the general American public of his day, where innocent victims compromise their moral values. His dream blinds him to greed and suspicions of his neighbors. Even Juana, is unable to temper his obsession and the events leading to tragedy. Kino eventually comes to realize that material wealth is nothing when you vision of good and evil. John Steinbeck was able to write The Pearl in the style of a folktale by keeping it short. By doing that, he made it is easier to keep in the memory, to pass it down to the next generation. Storys characters are common everyday people. They are not in the upper class, but they are hard working-class laborers, it makes the story closer to people. They are able to relate to the characters and how the characters feel. Also it provides a moral lesson which gives parents a reason to pass it down to their children. Steinbeck himself said that in The Pearl, ...perhaps everyone takes his own meaning from it and reads his own life into it. That means that it does not matter who hears the story, they will each get something out of it. Steinbeck made it exciting, which appeals to the listener and keeps them focussed on the story and wanting to hear more. By using these simple techniques, Steinbeck achieved his goal in writing a true folktale. In The Pearl, Steinbeck kept referring to songs. These were songs that Kino learned as a boy in the camp that they created for everything they saw, thought or did. There were songs for every aspect of his life: family, evil, the enemy, and eventually the pearl. They represented the good and the evil. But the Song of the Pearl was different. At the start of the story Kino said, but no new songs were added. However, the Song of the Pearl was added, and Kino placed in it whatever he could see in the pearl. At the start he saw in the pearl his family and all the things he could buy for them when he sold the pearl. So because of what he saw, the Song of the Pearl became the same as the Song of the Family. But soon the song changed. As Kino began to doubt and became afraid after he could not sell the pearl, the Song of Evil slowly took over and replaced the Song of the Family inside the pearl. Kino could not even see his own nice visions in the pearl, but all he saw was his own death. Evil was brought into the story very early on as the scorpion stung the baby. Good won over again as the swelling diminished with Juanas love and the seaweed remedy. After Kino found the pearl, evil began to take over. Greed, jealousy, arose in the town as everyone wanted the pearl and its money

Use Bond Energies to Find Enthalpy Change

Use Bond Energies to Find Enthalpy Change You can use bond energies to find the enthalpy change of a chemical reaction. This example problem shows what to do: Review You may wish to review the Laws of Thermochemistry and Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions before you begin. A table of single bond energies is available to help you. Enthalpy Change Problem Estimate the change in enthalpy, ΔH, for the following reaction: H2 (g) Cl2 (g) → 2 HCl (g) Solution To work this problem, think of the reaction in terms of simple steps: Step 1 The reactant molecules, H2 and Cl2, break down into their atoms H2(g) → 2 H(g)Cl2(g) → 2 Cl(g) Step 2 These atoms combine to form HCl molecules 2 H (g) 2 Cl (g) → 2 HCl (g) In the first step, the H-H and Cl-Cl bonds are broken. In both cases, one mole of bonds is broken. When we look up the single bond energies for the H-H and Cl-Cl bonds, we find them to be 436 kJ/mol and 243 kJ/mol, therefore for the first step of the reaction: ΔH1 (436 kJ 243 kJ) 679 kJ Bond breaking requires energy, so we expect the value for ΔH to be positive for this step.In the second step of the reaction, two moles of H-Cl bonds are formed. Bond breaking liberates energy, so we expect the ΔH for this portion of the reaction to have a negative value. Using the table, the single bond energy for one mole of H-Cl bonds is found to be 431 kJ: ΔH2 -2(431 kJ) -862 kJ By applying Hesss Law, ΔH ΔH1 ΔH2 ΔH 679 kJ - 862 kJΔH -183 kJ Answer The enthalpy change for the reaction will be ΔH -183 kJ.

ACD-IP PBX Request for Proposal (RFP) Research Paper

ACD-IP PBX Request for Proposal (RFP) - Research Paper Example This paper will focus on comparison and assessment of different vendors for IP PBX. It will focus on the requirements of the organization. PBX is a VoIP phone system that is used to manage communications and phone calls. There are many SIP phones which have been connected and working together to achieve the desired results. It is a private branch exchange that is used to switch private calls between different VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) users that are using local lines. The users are allowed to share a certain number of external phone lines. It also has the possibility of switching calls between a VoIP users and a local user who is using local telephone lines. It can also switch two users who are using traditional lines to communicate. It does this switching in the same manner that a conventional PBX would have done. In a PBX, there would be a need to have several networks that would be used to handle voice and data communications. One of the advantages of using IP PBX is that it does not have to have different networks in order to handle voice and data communications. With IP PBX, there is converged data and voice networks. It means that it is possible to have internet access and at the same time have someone using VoIP using one line. With the use of IP PBX, there is reduced operation costs and decreased cost of maintenance. The IP PBX is owned by the enterprise. There are SIP phones, an IP PBX server, and a VoIP Gateway. In this case, the VoIP Gateway is optional. The IP PBX is the same as that of Proxy Server. The SIP clients can either be soft telephones to hardware based phones. These phones will be used in the entire process and will have the required aspects that will be used in the communication. The SIP clients will have to be registered with IP PBX server. When they want to make a call, they will have to establish a connection with the IP PBX server. The IP PBX

Children are our future and they should be given every possible opportunity to succeed in life even if they are born into disadvantaged situations. Sometimes the families of certain children can’t provide as much as other children’s families and this can create a gap in the achievement and development of these children. Those disadvantaged children need special programing that accommodates for the lack of cognitive and social development that if not properly addressed could lead to poor school performance and delinquency. The Head Start program was created to address this shortcoming that some children face and to catch them up with their more advantaged peers. (Garces, 2002, p. 999) Head Start was originally designed to provide a nurturing environment that would provide children with preschool education, positive social interaction, and nutritious snacks and meals to help compensate for the lack of those things in the children’s lives. Head Start does an adequate job at meeting the needs of children in the manner in which it was originally founded. The Head Start program is not bad and should not be done away with. But, from what I have learned through this study, amendments could be made to increase the longevity of the desired results. In this paper I will discuss the Head Start program. How Head Start has succeeded. The way it attempts to influence children’s behaviors. I will also discuss some of the shortcomings of the Head Start program and ways to make the program more effective. Discussion: Early intervention into the lives of children has been proven to prevent delinquency. At an early age it is an effective means of changing the course of children’s lives for the better. Perhaps an upgrade with some of the standards of the Perry Preschool Project would be a sound investment in the lives of children. This investment would serve to better achieve a reduction in crime and delinquency. This upgrade would be relatively simple since the current policy is similar to the Perry Project. Another very important reminder, and something that I became aware of through this project, is to always consider the individuals who will be impacted by this policy. The investment in their lives is extremely important because at the ages that early intervention deals with, they may not have anyone else to fight for them. The policy that is implemented should really have the best possible outcomes for children associated with it. Head Start and other early childhood interventions are important for the children that they impact.
